Mr. Peterson spent two tours with the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) between 2000-2004 and returning in 2006. He has served as Deputy Director of WSHFC since 2022. His previous roles at WSHFC were as manager of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program and before that administering down payment assistance programs. In between positions at WSHFC, he served as Deputy Executive Director for the Pierce County Housing Authority. Prior to all these responsibilities, he held positions as assistant vice president and vice president position at Norwest Mortgage, EMP Enterprise, and Seattle First National Bank.
Mr. Peterson is a member of the executive board for the Pacific NW Region Chapter of the Association of Washington Housing Authorities, a former member of the citizen advisory committee for East Pierce County Fire and Rescue, and a member of the Tacoma Pierce County Affordable Housing Development Consortium.
Mr. Peterson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University. He has also received an executive development certificate from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business and is a housing development finance professional through the National Development Council.
