Michael Akerlow is the Director of Housing and Community Development for the Mayor of Salt Lake County. In this role, he oversees the administration of the county's federal grants and provides leadership in the development and implementation of its housing and community development policy and programs. Previously, Mr. Akerlow was the CEO of the Community Development Corporation of Utah (CDCU), a statewide non-profit that focused on the development of LIHTC multifamily and the construction and rehabilitation of single-family housing, housing counseling programs and down payment assistance. Before joining CDCU, Mr. Akerlow was the Director of Housing and Neighborhood Development for the Mayor of Salt Lake City.
Mr. Akerlow holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah.
