As chief human resources and building administration officer, Katie oversees the Bank’s human resources function, including HR operations; total rewards; and talent, development and engagement; as well as facilities, records retention and business resiliency.
Before joining FHLB Des Moines in 2021, Katie served as vice president of human resources at Farm Credit Services of America in Omaha, Nebraska, and as the director of human resources at Glacial Lakes Energy in Watertown, South Dakota.
Katie has more than 20 years of human resources experience among a variety of industries, including insurance, healthcare, manufacturing and biofuels. Her professional work has spanned strategic and operational human resources consulting and services, and includes having her own State Farm insurance agency.
Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Master’s in HR Management/Labor and Employment Relations from Penn State University. She held a Senior Professional in Human Resources certificate from 2005-2008.
