Joel joined FHLB Des Moines in 2003, becoming capital markets manager before moving on to FHLB Seattle in 2005 as the senior portfolio manager. Joel began his current role as relationship manager, responsible to the FHLB Des Moines members in Alaska, Oregon and Southwest Washington in 2015. Before joining FHLB Des Moines, Joel was the capital markets manager at Farmer Mac. Joel started his earlier career with various investment banking houses, such as Rodman & Renshaw, Oppenheimer & Co. and Chemical Bank's capital markets division, where he marketed new issues, trading and selling corporate bonds and preferred stocks and derivatives. Joel graduated from Pace University with a Bachelor's in business administration and calls Washington State home.
