Employee Feature: Ryan Coppess

This quarter, we’re thrilled to feature one of the newest additions to the Collateral Field Staff, Ryan Coppess. Our members in Southwest Iowa or Western Missouri may have already met him during a recent Member Collateral Verification (MCV) review, but we wanted to give him a proper introduction to those who haven’t had the chance to meet him.

Before starting at the Bank, Ryan worked at Country Club Bank in Kansas City for 12 years. Since starting at the Bank in January, he has appreciated the eye-opening and thorough training he’s received to ultimately help him help members maximize the value of their pledged collateral.

One of Ryan’s favorite aspects of his job as a Collateral Review Analyst is being able to travel across the FHLB Des Moines district and meet with our diverse members.

“I’m motivated by the opportunity to be in front of members, face-to-face, to help them find the best ways to use collateral to help their balance sheet,” Ryan said. “It’s nice to be that in-person ambassador for the Bank.”

When Ryan isn’t traveling across our district as an Analyst, you can find him on the golf course, traveling with his family and watching his seven-year-old son at sporting events.
