Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Announces Three Vice President Promotions

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines or the Bank) announced the promotion of Clay Hestdalen and Tony Montgomery, as well as the hire of Jeff Fuhrmeister.

With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Hestdalen was promoted to vice president/director of member solutions. Hestdalen joined FHLB Des Moines in 2004 as a senior collateral analyst after previously serving as assistant vice president at Bremer Bank in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Montgomery was promoted to senior vice president and director of community investments. In his new role, Montgomery is responsible for leading the Community Investments Department, which oversees the Bank’s Affordable Housing Products. In his 20 years of experience, Montgomery has worked in the areas of community development, affordable housing, and mortgage finance.

“Clay and Tony each excel at providing our member financial institutions with outstanding service,” said Dan Clute, executive vice president/chief business officer, FHLB Des Moines. “I am excited to see them continue to provide excellent support to the lending, economic development, and housing needs of our members.”

Fuhrmeister comes to the Bank after serving as the director of human resource systems, payroll, and service delivery for Kum & Go, LC (Krause Holdings) in Des Moines. In his new position, Fuhrmeister is responsible for compensation, benefits, vendor management, and human resource technology.
