Brent Ekstrom Appointed to FHLB Des Moines Advisory Council

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines or Bank) recently appointed Brent Ekstrom, executive director, Lewis & Clark Development Group, to its Affordable Housing Advisory Council (Advisory Council) representing the state of North Dakota. Ekstrom begins his three-year term on January 1, 2021.
“Brent brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Advisory Council,” said Jennifer Ernst, senior vice president/director, western office and community investment officer, FHLB Des Moines. “His insight will help enrich Advisory Council discussions and the advice provided to the Board of Directors about ways the Bank can support the affordable housing and community development needs in its 13-state district.”
Since 2001, Mr. Ekstrom has worked for Lewis & Clark Development Group where he has served as executive director since 2014. A current priority for the organization is multi- and single-family affordable housing development throughout the state of North Dakota.
In addition, he serves on several boards and committees, including the National NeighborWorks Association Board and Midwest Minnesota Community Development Corporation New Markets Tax Credit Advisory Board, the North Dakota Association of Non-profit Organizations and the Native American Development Center loan committee.
Ekstrom has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Minot State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota.
