The Member Impact Fund is a matching grant program that provides up to a $3 for every $1 match, based on eligible funds requested, to strengthen communities in targeted areas. The program encourages partnerships between eligible organizations and member financial institutions to support affordable housing or community development.
How it works
Membership Partnership: FHLB Des Moines member institutions partner with not-for-profit organizations or government entities located in an eligible state or U.S. territory that have a mission of promoting affordable housing or community development.
Apply: FHLB Des Moines member institutions submit applications for the Member Impact Funds online through the Bank's Voluntary Program system.
Match: Members must contribute at least $2,500 of their own funds per application and the Bank will match up to $3 for every $1 contributed.
- If the amount of application requests received exceeds the amount of available funding, the Bank will typically prorate its Member Impact Fund awards accordingly. In this situation, the member will still be required to donate their full member contribution.

Members are limited to a maximum FHLB Des Moines match of $750,000.
