Supporting eligible organizations working to improve the opportunity of affordable housing or community development

The Member Impact Fund is a matching grant program that provides additional funding to strengthen communities in targeted areas. The program encourages partnerships between eligible organizations and member financial institutions to support affordable housing or community development.

Beginning February 10, 2025, FHLB Des Moines will match up to $3 for every $1 a member contributes to an eligible not-for-profit organization or government entity through our Member Impact Fund. 

Eligibility: Grantees must be located in Hawaii, Utah, American Samoa, Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands.

Applications accepted February 10 - March 14, 2025

How It Works

Membership Partnership: FHLB Des Moines member institutions partner with not-for-profit organizations or government entities located in an eligible state or U.S. territory that have a mission of promoting affordable housing or community development. 

Apply: FHLB Des Moines member institutions submit applications for the Member Impact Funds online through the Bank's Voluntary Program system. 

Match: Members must contribute at least $2,500 of their own funds per application and the Bank will match up to $3 for every $1 contributed. Member Impact Funds cannot be used for a previous donation.
