The 2024 Member Impact Fund is a matching grant program that provides additional funding to strengthen communities in targeted areas. The program encourages partnerships between eligible organizations and member financial institutions to support affordable housing or community development.
Nearly $9 Million in Matching Funds were Awarded in October 2024
On October 18, 2024 FHLB Des Moines announced the award details of the Fall 2024 Member Impact Fund. More than 250 applications were submitted from 49 members to support organizations across Washington. The Member Impact Fund is one way FHLB Des Moines supports a strong community banking system, which is foundational to a thriving community. This matching grant program is designed to offer eligible organizations critical financial support for affordable housing and community development initiatives in targeted areas of FHLB Des Moines’ district.
This is the second year that FHLB Des Moines offered the Member Impact Fund, which is a $3-to-$1 match of member donations. Funding will be used for a variety of purposes such as job training, affordable housing, financial literacy, food banks and youth programs.
Since inception of the program, the FHLB Des Moines has awarded nearly $45 million in matching grants to support hundreds of nonprofits and government entities within Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Wyoming, Washington, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The more than 1,250 grants combining both member institutions and FHLB Des Moines awards range from less than $1,000 to $5.13 million.
