A Message from MPF Leadership

2020 was quite the year for the mortgage industry, to say the least! We saw record-breaking volumes, a refinancing boom and, of course, a pandemic that affected each of our lives in and outside of work. Through all of these huge changes, our Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) have continued to provide exceptional service during extraordinary circumstances. I know that myself and the entire Mortgage team here at FHLB Des Moines are immensely proud to have been your partner through it all.

Even with the uncertainty the pandemic brought, we were still able to accomplish great feats in 2020.

• Members sold more than $8.5 billion through our mortgage program, doubling our total volume in 2019
• 343 individuals tuned into our virtual Mortgage Conference, a 17 percent increase over 2019
• We had 263 members who sold despite market shifts and volatility

As we look forward to 2021, we will continue to fulfill our promise to enhance member benefits and to help your institution identify where to find additional benefits within the Bank’s mortgage program. Thank you for your support and continued partnership.
